Julie Woodward: Conscious Dreaming
I call my work Emergence.
People ask me, “What do you do?” In my best work, I do nothing.
And in the magic of that nothing, what happens is Emergence.
Emergence is becoming manifest, becoming known. It is a rising
up, a coming into view. Emergence is coming into being through
evolution, transition, transcendence.
This is not the same as healing. Healing is a judgment: a
judgment that the self is diseased, fragmented, broken, or sick.
And so we attack that self in order to fix it, to change it, and even to
kill (as in cancer).
Emergence is the wisdom found Leonard Cohen’s lyrics:
“There is a crack, there is a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in
That’s how the light gets in.”
Do you feel the deep yearning for something? A restless
dissatisfaction at some level? A sense that there is something
else? Something more? Are you yearning for soul, for the light to
get in?
